Dungeon Forge

Dungeon Forge is a browser-based dungeon map editor that combines procedural generation with full manual control.
Generate an editable dungeon in seconds, then reshape it room by room. Move structures, add passages and decorations, furnish selected areas, adjust the map style, or build an entire layout manually from the included asset library.
Every generated piece remains editable for ease of access and overall workflow.

===================
Generate a Dungeon
Use the Generator panel on the right to configure your layout.
You can adjust:
- Seed
- Number of rooms
- Map width and height
- Extra loops
- Room shapes
- Room variety
- Furnishing density
Select Generate Editable Dungeon when ready.
Generating a new dungeon replaces the current map, so save any work you want to keep first.
Build a Map Manually
Choose a category from the Asset Browser:
- Structures
- Connections
- Decor
Select a piece, then click the map to place it.
Placed pieces can be selected, moved, rotated, duplicated, furnished, or deleted through the Properties panel.
Press Escape to cancel the current placement tool.
Navigate the Map
- Mouse wheel: Scroll vertically
- Shift + mouse wheel: Scroll horizontally
- Ctrl + mouse wheel: Zoom
- Middle mouse drag: Pan the map
- Space + drag: Pan the map
- Use the visible horizontal and vertical scrollbars for precise navigation
The Center button returns the map to a useful viewing position.
Edit Objects
Click a placed object to select it.
The Properties panel allows you to:
- Rename the object
- Change its position
- Rotate it
- Duplicate it
- Delete it
- Furnish selected rooms
Use Undo and Redo to reverse recent changes.
Map Appearance
Use the Map Style section to change the visual presentation of the dungeon.
Available options may include different themes, floor treatments, grids, and structural styles.
These settings change the map appearance without changing its layout.
Save and Load
Select Save to download the current project as a JSON file.
Select Load to reopen a previously saved Dungeon Forge project.
Project files preserve the editable map data rather than flattening everything into an image.
Export a Map
Select Export to save the finished dungeon as a PNG image.
The exported image contains the map itself without the surrounding Dungeon Forge interface.
Browser Storage
Dungeon Forge may preserve an autosaved copy inside the current browser. Downloading a project file is still recommended before clearing browser data, changing devices, or making major edits.
